Pickling
The
hot-rolled coil passes through the pickling line, where
hydrochloric acid solution is used to remove surface scale
for smooth surface finish before further processing.
After pickling, the steel is thoroughly washed,
dried and oiled before undergoing the cold-rolling process |

|
Cold
Rolling
Pickled coils are rolled in the tandem cold-rolling mill
where they are processed into a specified thickness.Generally,
the rolling reduction ratio is 40 to 90 percent. The critical
point at this stage of the process is to maintain uniform
and precise flatness throughout the entire length of the
coil. The rolling process is automatically controlled by
the latest computer technology. |

Electrolytic Cleaning
The main purpose of electrolytic cleaning is to remove
the lubricant left on the strip surface after rolling.Every
trace of surface oil is removed by saponification and
emulsification of steel in alkaline solution. This degreasing
process is necessary for the production of cold rolled
strip with smooth surface. |

|
|
Annealing
After cold-rolling, the steel strip is hard and brittle
with its grains elongated in the rolling direction. To
obtain the desired grain structure and to improve the
mechanical properties, the strip is annealed at an elevated
temperature in a reducing atmosphere. |

|
|
Temper Rolling
Temper rolling slightly reduces the size of the annealed
coil to provide a degree of surface hardening that restores
temper and prevents strain or coil breakage. |

Finishing
and Inspection
Product thickness, width and surface quality are checked
during this stage.Product samples are also sent to the
laboratory for mechanical properties inspection and other
testings. Finally, rust-preventive oil is applied to the
products and they are packed for shipment. |
