As with steel house construction, steel-framed architectural engineering method is being widely adopted, especially in public buildings like military facilities, post offices, and health clinics.

With social applications of environmentally friendly engineering method on the rise and the call for effective resources utilization on the national level, the demand for steel-framed structures is expected to continue its upward trend.

In the area of public structures, steel-framed post offices were built in Seoggwan-Dong of Seoul and Youngtong of Suwon as a part of steel-framed construction pilot project in 1999.  Since then, six more steel-framed post offices were built in 2000, including the ones in Jeongja-Dong of Suwon and Songchon-Dong of Daejon.

As for health clinics, beginning with the first steel house health clinic completed in Gyeongnam Province in February of 2000, more clinics are being constructed in Gyeongnam Hadong, Namhae Noryang, and Gyeongbuk Pohang.  Steel-framed engineering method was first applied to military facilities back in 1998 with the construction of barracks and six officers residential buildings.  In the year 2000, forty more barracks and dormitories for unmarried soldiers were built.
