2. Advantages in using
stainless steel water tank
 |
 |
Clean Sanitation: Contaminant
are less likely to adhere to stainless steel because
of its smooth surface. Furthermore, moss, bacteria
and other microorganisms cannot breed since light
cannot penetrate stainless steel. Therefore clean
water is provided at all times. |
 |
Semi-Permanent Life Cycle: Stainless
steel water tanks can withstand external shocks
and fire as well as frequent fluctuations in loads
from repeated inflows and outflows of water. Stainless
is high-strength, extremely solid and impact resistant
so it boasts of excellent resistance to corrosion
and atmospheric corrosion, durability, and other
outstanding physical properties. All of these factors
work to make the stainless steel life cycle almost
infinite. |
 |
Workability and leakage resistance:
Various sizes can be welded and bolted into water
tanks, installation space can be reduced, can be
built to 10M high, has fine exterior and maintains
perfect leakage resistance. |
 |
Economy: Since stainless steel life
cycle is semi-permanent, there is no need for replacement
cost. Its easy-to-clean feature also keeps the maintenance
cost down. Therefore it is far more economical to
use stainless steel in terms of life cycle cost.

 |
New STS444 Steel: This is a new material
for water tank which can solve the problem of sodium
corrosion by Cl2 added in drinking water. It also
has improved workability and a stronger resistance
to stress corrosion cracks. It is already in wide
application in Korea and even Japan's large water
tank manufacturer, Morimatsu, uses POSCO's STS444.
